How to send Dogecoin.
Sending Dogecoin is easy, when you know how.
So, you're keen to spend Dogecoin, but you don't quite know where to start. It's quite a simple process, but we're here to guide you through it and soon you'll be sending Dogecoin as fast as you can work out how to say it.
Get a wallet.
You can't store Dogecoin without owning a wallet. You can get this for your Windows or Mac computer from the official Dogecoin Wallet site. You should check back periodically to ensure you have the latest version. If you have a Google Android mobile phone or tablet, you can get a wallet from the Google Play marketplace.
Encrypt and backup your wallet.
Once you have your wallet, you should probably encrypt it and back up the wallet file on a regular basis. More detailed instructions on how to do this will come soon, but in the meantime, look in the 'Settings' menu of each app. You will encrypt your wallet with a password that you'll need to remember for future transactions.
Now you have a wallet and it's all secured with encryption, click on the 'Send' tab or button in the wallet application. Here you are able to specify an address to send the dogecoins to. You're also able to enter a label, so you can easily track the transaction, and enter the value of Dogecoin that you wish to transfer.
Prior to sending dogecoins, you may wish to check the current exchange rates of Dogecoin against a local currency. Alternatively, if you are trading with a stranger, you can enlist more trust in the transaction with our escrow services.
